About That Challenge

You may remember in January I set myself to complete the #52FilmsByWomen challenge.

I thought back then that it would be breeze and I would see these movies organically, without having to plan for them.

And was I wrong about that!

I’m currently on my 31st movie, which is way behind. A quick peek on Letterboxd shows many other participants having completed and seen many more. So what have I done wrong?

I definitely should have planned this and I’m now going to have to if I want to complete the challenge. So please, recommend away!

Quick Challenge Update

We’re nearly halfway through the year so it’s time for an update on my movie challenges.

  • 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die – 708 movies (60%). The challenge is made up of all the movies mentioned in all the editions published so far, that’s 1177 movies at this point in time.
  • 52 Films By Women – 14 movies (27%) – I’m behind schedule on this one as I should have watched about 20 movies at this point. I’m confident I’ll complete this by the end of the year.
  • As for my regular movie watching list, I’ve set myself a goal of 450 movies this year. I’m well on track with 218 movies (48%) and I’m confident I’ll surpass this figure too.

Happy movie watching!

1001 Movies Challenge Update 2015

I first posted about this challenge in June 2014, CLICKY. An update was subsequently posted in November 2014, CLICKY 2.

So for this year I set myself the goal of 52 movies to make it an average of one per week.

I started the year having viewed 609 out of 1167, or 52%.

Please note that a new edition has been published this year, pushing the grand total of movies to watch to 1177.

Drumroll, please…

I finish 2015 having viewed 677 movies out of 1177, or 58%.

So, challenge accomplished for this year.

Let’s see how many I manage in 2016.
